George Zimmerman to appear on Armed American Radio
Known for his year of infamy and acquittal of the shooting death of a Florida teen, George Zimmerman wants to set the record straight so to speak by telling his side of the story — unchallenged — on Armed American Radio.
The interview is schedule to air on the show on Oct. 19 in a remote, undisclosed location.
“What I want to do is have a conversation with George Zimmerman in such a fashion that the mainstream media won’t understand — that this is Armed American Radio. I’m pro-self defense, I’m pro-concealed carry,” said Mark Walters, the show’s host.
“I come from a perspective that maybe a mainstream journalist doesn’t, so I want to have an opportunity to discuss with George Zimmerman his lifestyle both prior to (the Trayvon Martin shooting) and afterwards,” he said.
Since his July 2013 acquittal of the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, Zimmerman has had a laundry list of police run-ins — including domestic abuse accusations and traffic violations — and random happenings.
Most recently, on Sept. 14, Zimmerman made headlines when he allegedly threatened to kill a man while stopped at a red light, which Zimmerman will address during the interview, Walters said.
Despite the accusations, Walters said he thinks the public’s perception of Zimmerman has been skewed by mainstream news outlets’ bias toward gun owners and self-defense.
AAR, owned by the U.S. Concealed Carry Association, airs nationally on Sunday nights 8 to 11 p.m. eastern.
