(Before It's News)

Jews around the world this Friday will ask God for forgiveness. Don Futterman, writing in Haaretz, says this year Jews of all political persuasions, no matter where they live, have much to atone for.

Perhaps in an effort to bring Jews together rather than apart (it’s been an ugly year for Facebook posts), Futterman suggests tailored lists for atonement for the left, right and center.

Political sins on the left, for example, include, “Being clever instead of visionary and too often being right rather than impactful.”

Here are two for the right: “Calling any critic, whether loyal friend or foe bent on our demise, an anti-Semite.” And: “Making Israel a pariah state among the community of nations, and loving it.”

For the center, it’s along the lines of, “Standing on the sidelines while Israel burns and hatred spreads.”

You don’t have to be religious or Jewish to atone. And you certainly don’t have to agree with this man’s lists. Make your own suggestions in the comments below (just please don’t say anything for which you might have to ask forgiveness).
