TND Editor’s Note: The US Constitutional model for a democratic republic is designed to make the process of government anything but easy. You want easy, get a dictator. Presumably, a liberal would like to see government slowed down, with fair and careful debate when a conservative president pushes policy, right? The friction and debate that arises isn’t pretty, but neither are dictatorships. Gwyneth Paltrow is pretty on the outside but entirely conventional and unexceptional between the ears.

Gwyneth Paltrow would like President Obama’s life to be easier.
The Oscar-winning actress held a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee at her home in Los Angeles Thursday during which she extolled Obama.
“It would be wonderful if we were able to give this man all of the power that he needs to pass the things that he needs to pass,” Paltrow said of Obama, who was present at the fundraiser.
During the fundraiser and dinner, which cost $15,000 per head, Paltrow complimented the President on his looks, saying, “you’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly.” She told him that she is “one of [his] biggest fans, if not the biggest.”
Paltrow also applauded Obama for his efforts on a number of issues including climate change and equal pay, which she acknowledged as “very important to me as a working mother.”
In March, Paltrow, who was recently listed as one of world’s most powerful celebrities by Forbes Magazine, came under fire after suggesting that her acting career brought challenges to motherhood that were more difficult than those faced by a working mother with an “office job.”
