Our ego-centric mind constantly judges and compares, even though we’re all familiar with the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” The organization Rethink Homelessness wanted to help people realize that we shouldn’t always prejudge the worth of a homeless person by their outward appearance or the fact that they are homeless. They asked several homeless in Orlando, Florida to write down a fact about themselves that other people wouldn’t know just by walking past them. Their answers may surprise you.
