Leonard Embody shared the content below via CopBlock.org/Submit about an illegal detainment and search he experienced due to the “services” of three Gallatin (TN) police employees, who, while violating his rights, told him that they were there to protect his rights. Huh? Sounds like classic double-speak, done not just to deter questions, but probably to help assuage their own consciences.
Date of Interaction: Sept. 04, 2014
Individuals Involved: Lamar Ballard, Alan Jones and William Sorrells
Outfit: Gallatin Police Department
Phone: 615-452-1313
I regularly carry firearms and hand out 2nd amendment literature.
On September 4th I walked in front of the Sumner County Courthouse in Gallatin, Tennessee.
I did not consent to any detention yet the police detained and searched me anyway.
See Leonard Embody’s Youtube channel for other examples of his outreach and efforts to inform others in his community of their rights, which at times, attracted attention from those who purport to “serve and protect” yet who act in the opposite.
Editors Note: The information below, from OpenCarry.org, relates to the legislation said to be applicable to individuals within the political boundaries of Tennessee.
It’s pretty telling that a group of people claim that they have the ability restrict the rights of others to carry on their person their own property, yet allow their friends (the police) to do otherwise. That seems to establish two classes of people – is that something you support?
