McCain stumps for conservatives: Wrong man for the job

(Before It's News)

What’s amnesty pusher John McCain doing campaigning for GOP senate candidates who oppose his long held open border position —- from which he deviated only momentarily in order to get reelected

But there the duplicitous McCain is, hitting Southern states in support of senatorial candidates who are outspoken in their opposition to his dangerous amnesty scheme.

McCain, the deceptive Gang of Eight leader traveled to Louisiana to campaign for U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy, MD.  In Georgia he appeared on behalf of David Perdue. North Carolinians got a glimpse of McCain as he promoted the candidacy of state House Speaker Thom Tillis.

Not a single one of the senate candidates support McCain’s amnesty efforts.

This is conservative Cassidy’s campaign ad, showing no equivocation on the subject near and dear to McCain. The association could prove toxic. View the polling data.

Perdue touts his strong-on-border-security stance, urging “once and for all, forget amnesty.” Polling shows the race as a “toss-up.” McCain will do nothing more than muddy Georgia’s political waters, in a state Romney won by almost 8 points.

Tillis, in a tight race against incumbent Democrat Kay Hagan, might have a better chance of breaking away with someone less controversial than McCain hitting the campaign trail with him. Tillis’ issues page includes a segment on the border that begins with these words: “Our porous border threatens our national security and undermines our rule of law.”

He’s right. Then why stand with McCain?
