Stop Hiding The Turd: Time For An Adult Conversation About Illegal Immigration, Amnesty and Drivers Licenses

Many liberals bleat that we must give illegals drivers licenses to keep our roads safe, and that the federal government must provide amnesty to bring into the system future tax payers that are already using government services. Whatever. Liberals, if you must, wrap yourself with those positions and bleat on. But let’s have an adult conversation and stop B.S.-ing about the problems that grow out of these policies.
Granting periodic amnesty creates an incentive for future waves of illegal immigration and it destroys the rule of law aspect of legal pathways to legal resident alien status and newly minted immigrant citizens following the law. Why have immigration laws if we’re going to periodically nullify them?
What’s going on now in Obama-nation is an abomination. Obama intends to grant amnesty to millions of illegals, but he’s only willing to start the process after the election because he wants to avoid waking up still more Americans to what our executive branch of government is doing.
Proponents of amnesty, are you vampires afraid of sunlight? Instead of conducting an open, public debate and letting policy reflect the will of the majority of the American people, our political “leaders” treat us to another game of ‘hide the turd.’
I live in Oregon. I’ll say one positive thing about Oregon Governor Kitzhaber (and the list is short given that his actions demonstrate he’s corrupt to the core). You may disagree with him, as do I, but at least he’s honest about his position on granting drivers licenses to illegal immigrants. But then again, it’s not like he has the luxury of playing ‘hide the turd’ on this issue because Oregon’s ballot measure 88 forces the time-frame on the drivers license debate.
Politicians would rather play ‘hide the turd’ because they’re afraid you’re going to learn about their stinky policies and flush political careers down the toilet. My fellow Americans, it’s time that we have an open debate about illegal immigration. Don’t let politicians like Obama play hide the turd, and if the toilet must be flushed, get active politically — especially when it comes to local and state politics and countless opportunities to work with like-minded Americans within local organizations.
