Live video from the International Space Station includes internal views when the crew is on-duty and Earth views at other times. The video is accompanied by audio of conversations between the crew and Mission Control. This video is only available when the space station is in contact with the ground. During “loss of signal” periods, viewers will see a blue screen. Since the station orbits the Earth once every 90 minutes, it experiences a sunrise or a sunset about every 45 minutes. When the station is in darkness, external camera video may appear black, but can sometimes provide spectacular views of lightning or city lights below.

Christopher Agee — November 28, 2014 According to a recent report by The Hill, Barack Obama is once again promising to use his executive power to thwart legislators backing a policy he does not support. This time, a bipartisan effort headed by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Republican Rep. Dave Camp is under fire from the White House for ostensibly providing too many tax benefits for businesses. “The president would veto the proposed deal,” confirmed White House spokesperson Jennifer Friedman, “because it would provide permanent tax breaks to help well-connected corporations while neglecting working families.” The benefits being discussed have been implemented in the past, though they have recently lapsed. The lawmakers behind the current proposed deal simply wanted to see them reinstated. Though Obama portrayed the deal as a loser from the leftist viewpoint, it did provide Democrat-supported concessions such as tax breaks for families with college-bound kids and aid for those opting to use public transportation. Nevertheless, some House Democrats have voiced support for Obama’s veto threat. Without some advancement, supporters of the proposal could be left with no option aside from extending the tax breaks until the end of this year. Beyond his threat to veto the deal, Politico pointed out that Barack Obama may have played a less direct role in dooming the initiative. His announcement last week of executive action granting resident status to millions of illegals, some sources say, reduced Democrat enthusiasm regarding the extension of the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit.
