Artist Creates Impossible Towers Of Balanced Rocks To Meditate
Balancing rocks, marshmallows, Jenga pieces, or just about anything gets complicated as soon as you get some height going–but not if you ask Michael Grab, an artist with the skills of a real magician. His impossible looking stacks of rocks appear to be an optical illusion, but they are most certainly not. No tricks involved here, Grab’s balanced rocks are 100% the real deal.
Using intense concentration and meditative focus Grab is able to stack rocks in ways that seem to defy all logic. In the video included at the bottom of this post, you see Grab sitting without any movement, making just the slightest adjustments to each rock. Within 6-minutes he has created something that surpasses incredible.
In an artist statement Grab’s writes, “Over the past few years of practicing rock balance, simple curiosity has evolved into therapeutic ritual, ultimately nurturing meditative presence, mental well-being, and artistry of design.”
