Just some 7,200 miles above planet Earth, scientists have discovered an invisible force field that blocks satellites and astronauts – just as can be seen in Star Trek.

In what continues to awe cosmic scientists, researchers have found that there is actually an invisible force field that shields high energy electrons from doing harm to satellites and astronauts – high up some 7,200 miles above the Earth. And this invisible shield works just as can be seen in Star Trek.

Located within the Van Allen radiation belts, the Earth’s magnetic field is held in place by two large rings that are composed of fast-moving particles. And according to Professor Daniel Baker of the University of Colorado, “It’s almost like these electrons are running into a glass wall in the space. Somewhat like the shields created by force fields on Star Trek that were used to repel alien weapons, we are seeing an invisible shield blocking these electrons. It’s an extremely puzzling phenomenon.”

And as strong proof that the shield field composed of highly charged electrons is in place, it stopped a pair of probes that were launched in 2012 in their paths before they came any near to the force field – but then, the probes were launched to learn more about the Van Allen belts.
