(Before It's News)

Using meat cleavers, knives and a gun to brutally kill innocent worshipers in a Jerusalem synagogue, Palestinian terrorists show they are willing to commit their violence in the most provocative way. Eight others were injured in the Tuesday attack.

The Jerusalem Post reports that Palestinians celebrated the violence, with revelers handing out candy to children, while brandishing axes and posters of the terrorists in praise of their deadly attack. Hamas-affiliated social media also circulated violent and anti-Semitic cartoons hailing the killings.

Three of the five slaughtered by two Palestinian cousins were American citizens residing in Israel. They were identified by the State Department as Mosheh Twersky, 59, Aryeh Kupinsky, 43, and Cary William Levine, 55. The men and a British citizen, Avraham Goldberg, 68, all rabbis, were savagely slaughtered when the murderers stormed the building during morning prayers and began attacking worshippers.

The synagogue is located in a quiet neighborhood that has a large community of English-speaking congregants.

Palestinian radio reports praised the attackers as “martyrs” and loudspeakers at mosques in Gaza called out congratulations.

In a statement, Barack Obama inanely said, “At this sensitive moment in Jerusalem, it is all the more important for Israeli and Palestinian leaders and ordinary citizens to work cooperatively together to lower tensions, reject violence, and seek a path forward towards peace “

The praying victims were certainly “rejecting violence.”

Louisiana’s Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal was less equivocal, strongly condemning the unprovoked attack: “Our hearts and prayers are with the victims and their families after this evil attack on a place of worship. An attack on a synagogue shows that there are no bounds for terrorists. These are people depraved of any humanity in their hearts, and they must not only be stopped, they must be exterminated,” he said. “Unfortunately, Israel is no stranger to these types of attacks. That’s why we must always stand with our close friend and ally, condemn the act of terror and defend their right to defend themselves.”

U.S. Senators Rand Paul (R-KY) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) each issued strong statements of condemnation of the terrorists and explicit support for Israel, as Obama carefully couched his words.
