(Before It's News)

An ethical person – like a politician, banker or lawyer – may know right from wrong, but unlike a politician, a moral person lives it. “Marx and Engels never tried to refute their opponents with argument. They insulted, ridiculed, derided, slandered, and traduced them, and in the use of these methods their followers are not less expert. Their polemic is directed never against the argument of the opponent, but always against his person.” – Socialism http://chasvoice.blogspot.com/

John McCain a neocon? Of course. Lindsey Graham? Yep. Rand Paul?
According to columnist Paul Craig Roberts, the answer is yes.

Donkey Hotey
In a column published Sunday, Roberts claims that Washington’s actions and the media’s compliance are leading us to another World War.
He covers many topics in the article; however, I want to look at his analysis of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).
First he writes about John McCain:
No one was surprised that the New York Times published on March 14 the warmongering rant, written by neoconservatives for John McCain, which described Washington’s aggression in Ukraine as Russia’s aggression.
And then Rand Paul:
What surprised some was Rand Paul joining the hysteria. Rand Paul wrote his propagandistic rant against Russia for Time. Rand Paul claims, falsely, that Putin has invaded Crimea and that it is an affront to “the international community.”
As some Americans have misplaced hopes in Rand Paul, it is just as well that he revealed in Time that he is just another fool prostituting himself for the neoconservative warmongers and the military/security complex. If Rand Paul is the hope for America, then clearly there is no hope.
What do people that follow Ron Paul say about Roberts column? It’s a mixed bag.
“Rand footsie game with the NWO is turning my stomach.”
“Can’t stand Rand , that is my rallying cry. Nuff said.”
“I don’t think Rand Paul is a neocon, but he’s playing the game to get where he needs to be so that he can implement his fathers policies.”
“I will stand with Rand come 2016 ! I’d rather have my cup 95% full then settle for completely empty. If he took the position of his dad and only tried to appeal to us he wouldn’t stand a chance in this day and time as we have all found out . I get what he’s doing here…”
Of course I think Rand is struggling with an extremely difficult balancing act and it may not work. However, he’ll likely be the best viable option in 2016 and will be correct on the issues astronomically more than any other viable candidate two years from now. Not quite the lesser of two evils.
I wonder if prominent neocons like Jennifer Rubin or Bill Kristol would subscribe to Roberts “Rand Paul” thesis?
