(Before It's News)

Here are ten of the most overrated bands of all time. Many of them were successful many decades ago. But as time passes by, they’re getting old and are losing their fame and appeal.

10. Red Hot Chili Peppers

red-hot-chili-peppers

Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American funk band that was founded in 1983. In their music they combine the styles of funk with punk rock as well as psychedelic rock. For over 30 years this band stayed true to their terse formula. This formula for success sometimes worked for them, while at other times it grew boring for their critics and fans alike. Surprisingly enough, their efforts at sappy sentimentality end up being the most played hits.

9. Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin is an English rock band that was formed in 1968. The rock group’s heavy, guitar driven sound, routed in blues and psychedelia in their first few albums earned them recognition as one of he best heavy metal bands of all time. They are one of the most overrated bands in the world because when it comes down to importance, impact and influence, they are indisputably number one. No one else could beat them, but no one gave an attempt to at least try. Nirvana and Nickelback are two examples.

8. AC/DC

AC/DC

AC/DC is an Australian hard rock band that was founded in 1973 by two brothers. They were pioneers of heavy metal and are sometimes classified as such, even though they have called music as plain old rock and roll. Fans praise this group for being able to carry their songs using only three chords. The problem that I have with AC/DC is that almost all their songs sound the same and there’s hardly any differentiation. Just like with Led Zeppelin, once fans fall in love with them they will only listen to that band’s music. They are clueless about all others.

7. Daughtry

Daughtry

Chris Daughtry deserved his new found success on American Idol, but not so much can be said about his group that he formed, Daughtry. While Daughtry’s hits “It’s Not Over” and “Home” are catchy and hits all over the world, the band lacks originality. Daughtry’s impassioned, gravelly vocals sound not-so-different than Creed and Nickelback. The band seems like they’re plagiarizing a softer version of what those two dubious-quality acts have already put out there. In fact, if you played Daughtry alongside Creed, Nickelback, you won’t be able to tell the difference.

6. The Beatles

The Beatles

The Beatles were an English rock band that was formed in 1960 and consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, George Harrison, Pete Best, and Stuart Sutoliffe. According to RIAA, the Beatles are the best-selling music artists in the United States with 178 certified units. They had more number one albums on the British charts and sold more singles in the United Kingdom than any other act. The group was overrated and with good reason. It was a fad that never went out of style. It’s time to put thee group to rest and start living reality because anyone can do better guitar solos than George Harrison and sing better than Paul McCartney and John Lennon. All it takes is will and power.
