These are small fragments of ice, mini comets that hit the atmosphere which contain cyanogen (CN) a poisonous gas that glows green when heated. It’s not Aliens, just look back at Comet ISON which glowed green, same thing only these are fragments and within a year we will see bigger and bigger ones headed our way….
i saw one of these fireballs around this time last year. i was walking back to the house from bringing out the garbage for the next day’s pickup and saw it streak across the sky from left to right, was huge, bright almost neon green, with a long tail and beautiful.
