Cuba: The 54th State

By now, we all know that Obama is going to normalize relations with Cuba. He plans to reopen an Embassy there, for starters. I’m sure there are plenty of vacant buildings in Havana that the United States could renovate at very little cost, but what do you bet we will build, from the ground up, a veritable palace to house our ambassador in his or her staff, at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars, if not more.
You may get a sense that I am dead set against this move to become bosom buddies with a brutal totalitarian regime. Well, you’d be correct. I want nothing to do with it, until they throw off the yoke of communism. Then we can talk.
But you may say, the construction will employ Cuban workers. They will be paid a great wage relative to what they most likely currently make. That will be great for them, right?
Now, you don’t actually think that the Castro regime will allow the workers to make more than the prevailing wage; and if they do, those workers will see little if any of it. These are communists. That’s why Obama loves them. Everything belongs to the state.
Construction workers being paid $30 per hour while the rest of the island is making $30 per month. Yeah – that’s going to happen. Oh, some will get rich – just not the citizens.
As an aside: Isn’t it fascinating that Obama hates our police but is in love with the idea of a police state. He and his hard left ideologue brethren speak out against, protest, and march against the American police state, but embrace it elsewhere around the globe. It’s funny that Obama and Holder can rail against injustice and brutality here but seem not to mind the gulags and political prisons in communist Cuba.

…I had an epiphany, when I saw this headline. Obama’s building his own third world nation. Two more years, huh?
We may be playing hell, getting him to leave. A fiefdom.
It’s the first step to doing the right thing.
It’s often said that Cuba, in time, will be one of the world’s busiest travel destinations once the embargo is lifted. Plenty of U.S. and Euro investors in waiting. Beautiful and passionate people, food, beaches, mountains, waterfalls, world class fishing, ancient ruins…all with quick access from the States.
I can boat there from here in south Florida in a short days cruise, and can’t wait to do so!
Here is an even better legacy for Obama……
So Russia is going broke……and the Castro brothers are old as dirt….and dependent on Russian and Venezuelan subsidies. Both wells are running dry on that front…..what will Cuba do? What will Russia and Venezuela do?
How about a burying of the hatchet, so to speak? And a trade? A trade where the U.S. takes full control and ownership of Cuba as a state?
Now THAT is a Legacy I can see Obama setting his sights upon.

Why has the US “all of a sudden” warmed up to Cuba???
Answer: because the Russians are about to extract for Cuba a very, very, large pool of assessable oil and natural gas IN CUBA’S WATERS!
Russia is bringing in their military is to protect the Russian assets arriving to “mine” the oil & gas!
And, as usual, the US is arriving very, Very, Late to the drilling party!!!!!!! But building and providing lots of no cost “goodies’ and such will help to “secure” those “drilling rights” for ameriiiSCUM Corporations,……………………. FROM CUBA!
That’s all this is about!

So, Putin is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He can’t help Cuba monetarily as in the past. Now Cuba needs a new benefactor.
