DC: Victim Disarms Robber, Fatally Shoots Him

It is easier to disarm someone of a long gun than a handgun. There is more leverage to use.
A man who was being robbed Wednesday morning in Southeast Washington wrested a shotgun away from a gunman and fatally shot his attacker, D.C. police said Thursday.
The man who died was identified as Channel Johnson, 18, of Southeast Washington. Police said they questioned the man who was robbed but have not filed charges. The incident has been classified as a death investigation, and is continuing. Police initially said that Johnson was shot in the back and died at an area hospital.
