Irish Foreign Minister Charlie Flanagan says his country is considering an early recognition of Palestine as an independent state, despite opposition from Israel.

The Irish foreign minister made the remarks in parliament in the capital, Dublin, on Wednesday after lawmakers approved a non-binding motion regarding Palestinian statehood.
