(CNN) – Have no fear, Vladimir Putin is here. That seems to be the message in an epic promo released ahead of the Russian president’s annual news conference as the country’s economy plummets.
The promotion, released by a state-owned Russian channel, has the feel of a movie trailer, showing scenes of tanks, crying children and plenty of Putin.
He declares in a particularly memorable sound bite: “The bear never asks permission.”
That seems to be a problem these days in Russia — it’s a bear, not a bull market. Read more

Well the worlds bigest ecomomy, China will have no trouble leding Russia a bit of cash to defend against the US trying to short the currency even if the US knows that it will end up costing them money.
You see Russia has very little foriegn debt and does not need the IMF but the US has lots of debt, lots and lots of debt so i think I can see who is going to win this one.
If pushing oil down was part of the plan then the US has shoot itself in the foot, double edged sward.
