Tiffany Christmas tree

Tiffany & Co. creates an array of classic designs as part of its holiday collection. In 2010, the fine jewelry label decided to try their hands at designing the most expensive Christmas tree. The result was a beautifully timeless Christmas tree with a hefty price tag of $450,000. Created for theChristmas of 2010, this fantastic Christmas tree went up on display in the Piazza Duomo in the heart of Milan, Italy. Over 100,000 candles and ornaments were used to jazz up this expensiveChristmas tree.

Tiffany & Co. had plans of setting up a holiday-special pop-up store at base of the tree. However, all was not well for this costly Christmas tree, especially with a Milanese archpriest crying foul over this commerce-oriented tree. Whether or not it was religious enough is another question. But we do know that the Tiffany & Co. Christmas tree proved to be a brilliant marketing gimmick.

8. Steve Quick Jeweler Christmas Tree

Steve Quick Christmas Tree

This beauty was released in the same year as the Takashimaya Christmas tree that claimed the third spot on our list of the world’s most expensive Christmas trees. Designed by Chicago-based Steve Quick Jeweler, this is one of the cheaper entrants on our list, if $500,000 can ever be “cheap”. Promoted as “The World’s Most Valuable Tree” at the time, this shining example of Steve Quick Jeweler’s luxury designs was crafted out of nearly a kilogram of solid 18-karat yellow gold. A Christmas tree needs its ornaments. So the Chicago-based jeweler created an array of diamond-briolette ornaments for this most expensive tree. And families can relive memories of white Christmases thanks to a glistening 200-carat layer of diamonds depicting snow. Topping theChristmas tree was a 4.52-carat diamond set in a platinum star.

Unlike some of the most expensive Christmas trees on this list, the Steve Quick Jeweler tree went up on auction over eBay. It was reported that all proceeds from its sale would be donated to charity.

Ginza Tanaka makes a hattrick appearance on our list of the most expensive Christmas trees. Appearing at our sixth spot is yet another Ginza Tanaka creation – a Christmas tree that costs a whopping $850,000.

Only uber-rich individuals could have actually taken this tree home even as the rest of us only imagined placing it by the living room fireplace. You could regard this most expensive Christmas tree as a forefather to Tanaka’s 2011 creation. The jeweler, it seems, refuses to curb the desire for ostentation when it comes to Christmas trees.

As early as 2006, Tanaka was already working on lavish creations that would set records and make headlines in the luxury world. Crafted out of 24-karat solid gold, this stunning Christmas tree by Ginza Tanaka even has a star on the top providing just the right amount of Christmasbling. Even if you cannot afford this super expensive Christmas tree, take some time to admire the detailing that makes this one of the costliest Christmas trees ever.
