Kp note: While residing in Captain Cook, from 2010-2013, this was one of my “mission centers”. Often went there for ceremony, jumping off rocks into ocean, swimming around from one place to another.
I do not view the space being “damaged” or “ruined”. Rather, I view this as a type of cleansing. Preparing for the next phase (of the Kingdom of Hawai’i, very likely).
The effects from the past week’s higher west-side surf were greater than during the 3-11-11 tsunami. The park ranger says that it is possibly related to the planetary warming, leading to a rise in ocean heights.
(Big Island Video News) HONAUNAU, Hawaii – Damage assessments continue in West Hawaii following a week of pounding waves and high surf. On Tuesday, Visionary Video cameras got a glimpse of the damage sustained at Puuhonua o Honaunau, South Kona’s treasured National Historical Park site.
