Pope
Francis, during his recent love-filled tour of the Phillippines, raised
his hand in a salute and prompted some Internet tongue-wagging.

Standing
next to Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle in Manila, the Pope raised his
index and pinkie fingers, keeping his third and fourth fingers down and
his thumb extended.

The cardinal did the same.

All of
which prompted the Los Angeles Times to post on its music blog that the
pontiff might have been making the sign of the horns, a heavy metal
staple among concert fans, or perhaps a centuries-old devil sign.

    • omg get a life, must you post complete crap everywhere you are?

  • Have you people ever heard of Sign Language ???????
    Obviously NOT !!!!!
That is the international sign for I Love You.

I do not agree with every thing the pope says or does. But, this one was a no brainer.

    Think People THINK

  • You people are crazy. I taught deaf folks for 30 years and this is the sign for I love you. It is a combination of the sign for I L and Y. Nothing sinister here and it has become recognized universally across sign language systems in various countries. Churches all over use interpreters who use this sign when interpreting. One can sign I Love You or short cut with the sigh you see here with the little finger, index finger, and thumb.
