Street children as young as five are being caged in brutal detention centres alongside adult criminals in a cynical drive to smarten up the Philippines capital ahead of a visit by Pope Francis this week.
Hundreds of boys and girls have been rounded up from doorways and roadsides by police and officials and put behind bars in recent weeks to make the poverty-racked city more presentable when Pope Francis arrives tomorrow, a MailOnline investigation has found.
In a blatant abuse of the country’s own child protection laws, the terrified children are locked up in filthy detention centres where they sleep on concrete floors and where many of them are beaten or abused by older inmates and adult prisoners and, in some cases, starved and chained to pillars.
Six million people are expected to attend an open air mass conducted by Pope Francis in Manila’s Rizal Park on Sunday, which will watched by a global TV audience and officials appear determined to ensure that urchins are hidden from view.
And this is any different from all the past centuries of abuse at the hands of the Church, how?
The Catholic Church (in all its guises, from the Holy Roman Church to the Seat of God Church, etc.) is guilty of hundreds of millions of deaths over the past 2000 years. It fueled 3 full Crusades to force Christianity on the Middle East, to try and take back a nation that it did not own nor asked for its help, it was the driving force of religion followed by the White Europeans who swept into the North American continent in the 1600s, and that caused the death and multi-generational dislocation of almost 90-million 1st Peoples onto postage-stamp sized reservations.
The Church is a monstrosity that does not care about people. It wants to stand on a soapbox, declare itself holy, receive attention, and enslave the masses so that it can leach from them like any other parasite – all for the name of power.
It is just like it’s ‘god’, a total falsehood.
When did God or Jesus every say come enter my church, donate so we may fix our roof.
Even if God were real he has no connection with the Church and Jesus would never enter its doors.
