The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver on charges of corruption, fraud and other criminal counts.
The top democratic lawmaker was arrested Thursday after a lengthy corruption investigation into payments he received from two law firms in New York.
According to the criminal complaint, he has received approximately $4 million from two law firms since 2002 for his “corrupt and secret use”.
