In an interview promoting his new film, “Black or White,” Kevin Costner says gun control shouldn’t be as an polarizing issue as it is, adding that he’s for gun control and views guns as something he wants his family to own.
“In this politically charged life my wife got me a shotgun because I hunt. And she got me an heirloom and I know there’s a lot of thoughts about guns and boy almost like race — almost like “Black or White” — you’re either on one side or you’re on the other. And I own guns and I, for myself, I hope that there are stricter gun laws. I’m all for it. I’m not so black or white about that,” Costner said.
“For me I don’t have jewelry. My wife is gonna pass jewelry to her daughters, but the guns I have my father hunted with and my sons will hunt with the guns one day that I’ve hunted with and they’re sons will hunt with them one day if that’s something that’s interesting for them to do. And when they put their face on that gun they’re grandfather will be on it, I will be on it, and this is a thing that passes.”

If gun control was a matter of taking dangerous, actual known ‘assault weapons’ off the street, disarming felons and prior-felons, better city safety and better understanding for their role as a hunting and general recreation tool; I’d be all in on ‘safe gun use and control’ myself.
The problem is, time-after-time, those of the Progressive-Liberal-Socialist variety have proven that they are totally irresponsible with gun-registries that turn to gun-control that turn to gun removal that turns to Hitler Societies, and without fail, you have proof in today’s world that it is not only no different, but more like that in every way. Take Mexico, they have STAUNCH gun control, and they have a drug cartel that owns their government, their people live in fear, and yet they have tremendous laws against guns that cripples their people while actually empowering their criminal faction. New York and Chicago are no different, guns make the news in these places as a result of some prior-felon having a showdown with someone over drugs, time-and-time again.
The answer isn’t more laws, it is enforcing laws. The answer isn’t some DOJ racial study, it’s recognizing that black leaders need to actually LEAD their citizens in responsible citizenship and governance. The answer isn’t to dig into my crime-free background and family history more, tax me more, watch me more; it is to check those felons who just got out, for what ‘illegal stolen firearm they just picked up’, and re-arrest them for doing so.
The gun control faction isn’t in this to save people, it is to disarm you so that they can better dictate and control from their liberal bastions in the large cities. They don’t care that I hunt, or target shoot. They don’t care that I like firearms and am responsible with them. They have no intention of ever leaving me alone and stopping from trying to take them away from me. As a result, they force me to see them as they are, for what they are, and therefore, they will always force me to do what I would prefer not to, to defend guns that I would not care to keep in production at all.
You see, if you force me to take a side, and you keep on trying to manipulate and control me, then I will ALWAYS side against you. If you keep proving to me that every time I trust you, you lie to me, then I am forced to consider you always-a-liar. As a result, ‘gun control’ equates to ‘we come to disarm you, now give in to us’. To which I say, ‘you’re my enemy, and always will be’.
Gun control is a losing propaganda piece that Chicago, Mexico, Argentina and so many other Socialist places scream ‘this does not work, and never will’. The only comfort is to know, that eventually they will try to overthrow this nation, disarmed citizens or not. That the ‘gun control supporters’ are unarmed, and will be some of the first victims is comforting. When all is said and done, only the armed will remain. I’m sure in a couple of centuries, they will once again hear from the ‘weapons kill’ crowd. It’s inevitable.
