Hybrid Solar Event Pinpoints Abrahamic Covenant

This week, The Chronicle Project.org released the newly restored version of the fifteenth chapter of Genesis, regarding what is known as the Covenant of Pieces.

Since their discovery in 2009 of the Self Defining Hebrew system embedded in ancient Hebrew, they have been using it to restore the corrected version of the scriptures.  The SDH system exposes the actual meaning of any ancient Hebrew word, thus removing the potential for translations skewed by doctrinal pressures.

With the SDH applied to the account of Abram being visited by the Creator, some amazing discoveries have come to light regarding the event.

The standard Bible translation appears as such:

15:12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.

The SDH restored version reads as so:

15:12 And then the sun began to dim. Therefore Abram fell down in terror.  And he observed what begin to manifest, a great darkness which was increasing, therefore continuing to disperse.

In the SDH restored version, it was revealed that what appeared to be a possible solar event had taken place at that time.  The research team began to check through eclipse calculations that might match such an event within that time period.

According to Jewish historians, the Covenant of the Pieces took place in 1743 BCE.  The Chronicle Project team was able track an actual hybrid solar eclipse which ocurred in that exact area on March 5 1743.

A hybrid eclipse (also called annular/total eclipse) is one that shifts between a total and annular eclipse. At certain points on the surface of Earth it appears as a total eclipse, whereas at other points it appears as annular. Hybrid eclipses are comparatively rare.  In this case, this fleeting hybrid eclipse covered only a tiny path, just 8 km wide and lasted for a brief 9 seconds at the point of maximum eclipse.

No other full eclipse ocurred in the same region of hundreds of years on either side of the date.

NOTE: Due to the erratic rotation of the Earth, the time and location of the eclipse cannot be forecast perfectly. This eclipse’s time is estimated to be accurate ± 1h29m (with 95% confidence). This equates to an error in longitude of ± 22 degrees, or around ± 2026 km (1259 miles) at the latitude of greatest eclipse.

The margin of error shown in the eclipse calculation above, puts the epicenter of the eclipse well within the potential of being directly above Abram as it was described on that day.  The fact that the restored ancient Hebrew text contains such a description, lends credence to that potential.

As mentioned before, what is most unusual about the eclipse on that day is the length and viewable area of this hybrid eclipse.  The full eclipse lasted only 9 seconds in which it is recorded that these words were spoken to Abram:

SDH restored:

v13 Toward Abram (Creator) declared for him to know, “Proceed to know as so, your seed shall be removed (from) amid the Earth which does not exist for them.  And they shall be serving those and shall respond to that group of those, four hundred year(s).

v14 And the nation who takes in the group to establish them to be serving, this decision, is already therefore confirmed.  And after this happens as stated, so (your people) shall come forth being amid wealth yielded to them.

v15 And with this, they shall proceed to enter into (the land), to begin toward the patriarchs. So those amid yours shall be going, proceeding to be buried amid a good old age.

v16 And four shall be observed to inhabit (the land) when you return.  As so, do not allow peace to burden the Amaaraya.  Make sure this is observed.

v17 And so the sun started to shine again.

What this discovery presents, is proof of an actual physical solar event coinciding with Abram’s described encounter with his Creator in the ancient texts. This now gives historians an actual fixed point by which all other calculations of biblical dates can be accurately defined and opens major potential for other research in this area.
