Douglas told dispatchers that gunshots had been fired when he saw someone attempting to break into his garage.
Sheriff's deputies found a man, identified by Sheriff John Wallace as Wesley Edwards, 26, on the ground with a gunshot wound to the leg when they responded to the Quail Drive residence.
