Two major new studies by an international team of researchers have pinpointed the key factors that ensure a livable planet for humans, with stark results. Of nine worldwide processes that underpin life on Earth, four have exceeded “safe” levels — human-driven climate change, loss of biosphere integrity, land system change, and the high level of phosphorus and nitrogen flowing into the oceans due to fertilizer use.
I’d say between this story and the video below from yesterday’s ‘earth shattering’ news, humanity has alot to think about. We are a spoiled kid, getting drunk every night, doings drugs, gorging on crap food and so forth, and we had better change our ways or we are all dead. A slow cancerous, agonizing death. It might feel like livin’ or ‘progress’ as the politicians call it but what it is is far from it. Wake up!
