There was once a big storm that threw upon a beach thousands of starfish to die under the sun. An old man that had seen many such storms and many such starfish walked slowly across the dunes, contemplating the cruelty of nature, when he came across a little girl running along the shore, desperately throwing starfish back into the sea. He said to the little girl-“What are you doing my child? There are thousands of starfish, and only one of you. However many you save, there will be countless more you can never reach in time. What difference do you think you are making?”. The little girl stopped for a second, then picked up another starfish and threw into the sea. Turning back to the old man she said “To that one, I made all the difference in the world”, and carried on as before.

That was, of course, in a time long ago, in a place not entirely real. In this time, in this world, the little girl would probably take a picture of a dying starfish on her iPhone, post it to her Facebook and quite possibly add the caption “dis suxx. sumbdy shud do smthing!!!”. Just saying……        Be AWARE and be PREPARED, FEAR is not an option. Be safe everyone…
