US space agency NASA has unveiled three posters of exoplanets discovered by its Kepler space telescope in order to make the stargazers more curious about the Earth-like planets.

All the three spectacular posters have been created by NASA’s visual strategists David Delgado and Joby Harris, who work at the American space agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California.

The posters showcase artistic impressions of these Earth-like alien worlds.

One of these posters shows an exoplanet called Kepler 186f, which is also referred to as the ‘Earth’s cousin’.  Kepler 186f is bigger than our planet and circles a star that is dimmer and smaller than the Sun.

Interestingly, the poster shows the exoplanet covered with red grass.

In the poster, the planet is described in this way: “If plant life does exist on a planet like Kepler 186f, its photosynthesis could have been influenced by the star’s red-wavelength photons, making for a colour palette very different than the greens on the Earth.”

The second poster showed a skydiver flying very high, just above the super-Earth HD 40307g, an exoplanet which is eight times bigger than the Earth.

The NASA poster said, “Prospects for life on this unusual world aren’t good as it has a temperature similar to dry ice.”

In the third poster is Kepler-16b, an exoplanet orbiting around a gravitationally bound pair of stars. This illustrates any object on the surface, such as a visiting space tourist, would cast two shadows.
