(Before It's News)

With the majority of their attention concentrated on their XD serious of pistols, the M1A line of .308 rifles haven’t seen much love. That all changed at the 2015 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, where Springfield premiered their newest addition to the M14-inspired line of semi automatic rifles, the M1A Archangel.

A variant of the Loaded series of M1A rifles offered by Springfield Armory, the Archangel model ships with a synthetic, fully adjustable stock of the same name. What separates the Archangel from currently offered polymer stocked M1A rifles isn’t just how adjustable it is, but also several features that make the weapon platform more versatile. Such as the four quick detach push-button sling mounts and the integrated rail under the forearm for mounting a bipod.

No release date was announced at SHOT, nor was an estimated MSRP. However, given the $1500 retail cost of the loaded rifle without the precision stock, shooters should expect the rifle to be within $300 or less of that price point.
