Discovering the ‘truth’ (even if it’s just regarding a private truth) is all about gradually working through different paradigms and more significantly sieves that are deliberately placed between information leading to the true real truth we all seek. I am putting it out there that both George Carlin and Bill Hicks were such sieves fashioned to appear as counter, but all the while persuade us that our dépendance is all consuming and there is nothing we can do about it. A generation have listened to both, chuckled at their gloomy insights and prognostications and resigned ourselves to always being the ‘other’ to the larger more powerful overlords. They both presented the world to deadbeat acceptance… drugs, mushrooms, atheism and above all an all consuming nihilism that even if not intended this way, would ensure one would want to cryogenically remove oneself from the ‘world’. They did expose things to us, but they also stopped at a hopelessness and fear. They did tell us to question, but then proceeded to provide some slack-options of resignation. Anyway, just putting it out there. Be AWARE and be PREPARED, FEAR is not an option. Be safe everyone…
