Child birth is always captivating but these ten cases are particularly amazing! While some of them can be explained away with science, the rest will have your scratching your head for days.
10. First Male Pregnancy-Thomas Beatie
Thomas Beatie, who now lives in Arizona became the first legally transman to become pregnant in 2008. The youngest child was born naturally. Beatie’s first pregnancy resulted in an ectopic pregnancy with triplets, requiring emergency surgery and resulting in the loss of all three fetuses. In 2012, it was announced that he would be separating from his wife of 9 years.
9. Different Colored Twins
It is not normal for mixed-race couples to have children that are ‘differently colored’ but there are certain cases every now and then which go beyond what is normal and ‘known’. Miya and Leah Durrant came into the world in 2008 looking alike but with differently colored skin and eyes. What’s more, the couple had given birth to a pair of twins in 2001 and they were different colored as well! This was not the only case. Alison Spooner & Dean Durrant’se defied the odds – not once, but twice. Alison gave birth to two sets of different colored twins.
8. Rajo Devi
Rajo Devi gave birth to a baby in 2008, aged 70, making her the oldest woman in the world to go through child birth. She was unable to conceive all through her life and was menopausal by the time she was 50. She nearly died after giving birth, but battled back for her daughter’s sake. Now she’s battling something new….to stay alive until her daughter is 15 and she’s old enough to get married.
7. Lina Medina
If the oldest mother is 70 years old, the youngest mother, Lina, is 5 years old. She gave birth to her baby who grew up thinking that his mother was his sister and his grandmother, his mother. Gerardo lived a normal, healthy life and Lina had another child 33 years later. He passed away in 1979 at the age of 40 from complications from bone marrow disease. Lina lives in a poverty stricken village in Peru and refuses any interviews or media attention.
6. James Elgin Gil & Amillia Sonja Taylor
James Elgin Gil was born 4.5 months premature but he somehow and miraculously survived. He weighed 482 grams and this was considered to be healthy which is why he was put into intensive care. Amillia Sonja Taylor was born in the fall of 2006 and weighed only 10 ounces. Just 9 ½ inches long, she has been referred to as the “cell phone sized baby” by some, but to her parents, Eddie and Sonja, she is just simply a miracle. She miraculously lived like Gil.
