Family Confirms Body Found Is Missing AIG Executive Omar Meza
Meza, a vice president for AIG Financial Distributors, had business meetings scheduled for Friday that he didn’t show up for.
A body was found Thursday by search teams looking for a missing AIG executive who disappeared one week ago during a business trip to Palm Desert.
The body was discovered in the 74800 block of Country Club Drive, according to a tweet from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities had not officially confirmed the identity of the body, but family members told Palm Springs TV station KMIR that the remains were those of Omar Arce Meza.
Family members told the station that Meza’s body was found on the property of the JW Marriott where the 33-year-old was last seen on surveillance video around 11 p.m. last Thursday.
The remains were recovered from a body of water at that location and taken to the coroner’s office, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department. The cause of death would be determined by the coroner’s office.
