The trick is cow dung and Indians knew this for thousands of years. However, in recent times the Indian farmers have been driven to suicide due to high cost of farming and low yields after they switched from traditional cow dung based manure to imported chemical fertilizers.
The ancient civilization of India regarded the Cow as mother because she gave humans her own milk for all their nutritional needs (without the need to kill animals). Milk is a miracle food that further gives butter, curds, cheese etc. Cow dung helps to grow healthy pest resistant grains and vegetables. In fact even Cow’s urine is potent against cancer and this is patented. So it is not a sentimental understanding but a time tested truth that mother cow takes care of humanity with her gifts to us. Traditionally Indians worshipped Cow as mother and killing her was considered the most heinous ungrateful act.
