MADISON, Al. (INTELLIHUB) — After slamming an elder Indian citizen to the ground in front of his new home in a single sweep, Eric Parker, a local cop was forced to turn himself in to face charges as the entire incident was caught on the dashboard camera.
Police Chief, Larry Muncey, spoke out about the violent incident in a press conference saying, “I found that Officer Eric Parker’s actions did not meet the high standards and expectations of the Madison City Police Department.”, recommending that Parker be ‘terminated’ from the force.
However, shortly after Parker turned himself in he was released on only a $1000 bond in what some say will be just another smoke show to pacify the public.
A suit was filed Thursday in a federal court by attorney Hank Sherrod who says the police had no right to stop Sureshbhai Patel on a public sidewalk.

Sherrod welcomed the news of the dismissal of this officer, as he called for exactly that on Tuesday. But Sherrod said Madison should never have released a statement suggesting that Patel had been looking into garages or was in any way responsible for the incident.
“They didn’t do that on Monday,” said Sherrod. “On Monday they were trying to blame Mr. Patel. On Monday they were minimizing this. I’m glad they apparently are starting to do the right thing. But why weren’t they doing this on Monday? With those videos.”
Members of the local Hindu community, who asked not to be named, said after the press conference that they are known for non-violence. “We don’t hurt nobody, that is our principle…we don’t hurt the snake.”
The cop was caught on video telling Patel, who doesn’t speak English, “Do not jerk away from me again, or I will put you on the ground. Do you understand?, just before paralyzing him permanently in what appeared to be a ‘roid rage’.
The accompanying officers then attempted to get the man to just ‘walk it off’, despite his injuries, before seeking medical help.
You can see the officers drag the man down the sidewalk in the video as his legs dangle freely.
