Throughout the Cold War, the American public was united against an ideological threat called Communism, which was physically represented by the armies and nuclear arsenals of Soviet Russia and China. Today, the COld War is a memory – but America is now obsessed with the threat of radical Islam. Could it be that America has simply replaced Communism with Islam as the external threat that galvanizes the nation? Enjoy!!!

Paul Hsieh published an exceptional article about America’s vulnerability in regards to the war against terrorists. Nevertheless, he asserted that the mosque is sidetracking us from the real problem of Iran’s nuclear weapons program. I pleasantly don’t agree. The real problem is that we are battling a war with Islam. The mosque, rather than sidetracking America, has brought her full attention to it.

The mosque has refocused us on the fact that we were viciously assaulted on 9/11, and Americans are beginning to talk about it again. Videos about 9/11 are going around the internet and discussion is taking place about who was liable. People are learning about Islam and choices are being made about who is to blame.

This is has been a complicated road, because Americans are sympathetic and naïve about Islam. They are used to freedom of religion and they find it hard to condemn one. And that is exactly the problem, Americans view Islam as only a religion. It is not just a religion, it is also a sophisticated, detailed political ideology with the explicit goal of taking over the entire world by any means at its fingertips, even if it incorporates lying and killing. Americans should think of it as a social/political ideology, but they are so used to dividing religion from politics (which was a first at the time of our country’s founding) that they keep granting Islam the benefit of the doubt.

Frank Langan, site superintendent from Queens doing work at ground zero, states he is on the fence on the matter. When construction employees started to complain about working on the mosque, he made a expression that is common of people who are on the fence about this issue, “It’s a tough argument. I sympathize with workers’ position, but at the same time, you can’t separate out all Muslims simply because of a small number of terrorists.” That would be like stating, you can’t single out all Communists because of a small number of Communists. They are all Communists if they support the Communist ideology, and just like Communism has an ideology, so does Islam. Any Muslim who is undoubtedly innocent, must renounce Islam like other courageous Muslims such as Ayaan Hirsi Ali or Wafa Sultan. Not to do so, means that he still views us as the enemy and assists the downfall of the United States.

Detachment of church and state is something we take for granted. Islam does not separate the two. And Islam is the new Communism.

To be able to win any war, one must recognize who the enemy is and have the courage to do what is necessary. As Paul Hsieh stated in his article it is important to devote to victory and win the war. But that won’t happen until our enemy is plainly identified in the American mind. Be AWARE and be PREPARED, FEAR is not an option. Be safe everyone…
