Shell oil scientist admits 1000 mpg barrier broken in the 1970′s

Uncovered info:  Shell oil scientists knew fuel economy could be drastically improved, with some concepts able to break 1000 mpg. 

Volkswagen has lended creedence to this with their 300 plus mpg XL-1

Obviously this would require a special engine with a low reciprocating mass, efficient car design and more importantly: the water fog/steam injection system I have spoken of quite a bit previously on my web site. This method mentioned by this scientist simply converts the heat that would be lost through the radiator and exhaust into energy that moves the car by using it to vaporize water inside the combustion chamber.
