The announcement went out Friday morning that Right to Work legislation is on the move in the Wisconsin Capitol.
The Assembly and Senate are planning to meet in an extraordinary session the week of February 22nd to work out a deal. Earlier in February the MacIver Institute was at a forum in Milwaukee, where two key voices in the debate squared off. Kurt Bauer, President of WMC, claims that states with Right to Work laws have superior economies in almost every area measurable. Steve Lyons, spokesman for WCC, countered saying that workers are hurt financially under these laws. |

The term “right to work” sounds great but it is just another scam for employees. Take it from someone who worked his whole career in a “Right to work” state. If you work in one, take that employee benefit book that they give you and throw it straight in the garbage. No matter what they put in writing, they do not have to honor and can change their minds over night. Right to work really means employees have no rights and even if you work a decade with no sick time, they can fire you and give your job to a newbie at half the pay. In fact, they even expect you to train the newbie who is most likely from a foreign country, a new breed of slave.
