Possible Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson rendered an apology for his gay comments on CNN. In the interview Carson stated being gay is undoubtedly a choice. At the time the retired neurosurgeon said, “Prison proves being gay is a choice” but has since taken to his Facebook page to offer his regrets by stating his comments did not fully represent his heart on the issue.
During the interview with Chris Cuomo, Carson was asked directly if homosexuals have the choice to be gay and whether they have control over their behavior to which Carson exclaimed, “Absolutely!” The 63-year-old went on to explain his belief by stating that a lot of people go into prison straight and come out gay. The argument that came back at Carson is although his statement has truth it is not an absolute for all same-sex lovers.
