Police received a 911 call Wednesday afternoon reporting shots fired at a Miami Beach mansion owned by rapper Lil Wayne and, according to WSVN, four people could be injured.
A spokesperson for the rappers record label, Young Money Entertainment, tweeted that Lil Wayne, or Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., is fine and wasn’t home during the incident.
SWAT officers were also called in and prepared to enter the residence. A hostage negotiator was also called to the scene, but it’s unclear why.
After setting up a perimeter around the rapper’s home located in an affluent area of Miami, Police believe the call could have been a case of “swatting,” or the practice of calling in false emergency calls, entertainment publication TMZ reported.
Police were recently called to the house after reports of a person lurking around the house.
