(Before It's News)

In the emotional 8-minute mini documentary, Chicago Bulls center Joakin Noah opened up about the impact gun violence has had on him in his own life, and offers personal accounts from teammates Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson – all of whom have lost someone close to gun violence.

The video, titled “You’re Not Alone,” was produced by Noah and directed by award-winning filmmaker Alex Kotlowitz, who said he admired Noah’s willingness to “let himself seem so vulnerable” despite being a “hard-nosed basketball player.”

Kotlowitz wants to see the film make its way into classrooms and challenge “kids to think about what they’re going through.”
