Nationwide opposition to the Chicago Police’s secret detention facility known as Homan Square is growing rapidly.

It was revealed last week that the CPD is using CIA-like tactics on suspected criminals and American dissidents — denying them of due process and basic rights.

Since then, a massive movement to shut down Homan Square has grown online and in Chicago, as well as around the country.

Several hundred concerned residents of Chicago brought Homan Square to a standstill over the weekend, and as many as 1,500 or more are expected to shut it down this coming Saturday.  The event will take place at Homan Square at 12:00 pm CST. More info here.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, activists who are seeking justice over the LAPD’s violent slaying of a man known as Africa, are also holding a protest on Saturday at 12 pm PST at the LAPD headquarters. More info on that event can be found here.

  • Is the world gone mad?

  • Was the original from 1976 located in Los Angeles and the blistering remake from 2005 shot in Detroit, the third edition of `Assault on Precinct 13′ will now, ten years later, be recorded in the grim older suburbs of downtown Chicago, where the deadly fight for survival from the Mortgage Crisis had just been concluded with the bulldozing and a fast rebuild of the Chicago Police Departments `black site’ called Homan Square. Who would have thought that instead of home-grown terrorism the new scenario and scenery would consist of a home-grown Guantanamo style torture – excuse my language – enhanced-interrogation black site facility ?

    • I guess the, the people, have located the lone wolf on Terrorists cells huh. CPD Homan Square Grow.
Good work People, just goes to show your DHS is not at work for you. I bet if you look at the DHS you will find more of this.
