My Story….

After an incident where I called the police regarding a threat that was made on my life, the police showed up and arrested me. I was issued a ticket for disturbing the peace. During the arrest, I dislocated my shoulder and was sent to a hospital. When I left the hospital, I went directly to the Des Plaines Police Department to get complaint paperwork.

The commander on duty, “Mike Coleman” told me that I had no complaint, so he would not give me the paperwork. After 5 minutes, he finally tells me that the paperwork can be found online (which is a lie, because I searched everywhere). After another 10 mins of begging, he finally gave me the complaint paperwork. Mike Coleman during this whole interaction was extremely aggressive towards me and disrespectful. When he handed me the complaint paperwork he said, “It will end up on my desk anyways and I will just end up throwing it away.”

Once I handed the complaint forms in a decision by – yes, you guessed it – Mike Coleman was reached that stated there was no wrongdoing by police. A decision that only took two days to reach. I find it hard to believe that the dash camera footage, audio tapes, all the reports or any other document was fairly and justly investigated in that small duration of time. Mike Coleman stuck to his word, “when it reaches my desk I will throw it out anyways.” This police department not only failed to protect me from a threat on my life, but wrongfully arrested and charged me with disturbing the peace.

[Editors Note]
Sadly, I’m not surprised by the results of Wojciech’s (yes, that’s his name, I found him on Facebook) complaint. In fact, I’m shocked he even got a complaint form, because the ex-officers in the video below didn’t have such luck and ended up in jail a few times. See for yourself.
