Nothing surprises me anymore. There are many sick and depraved individuals in the world.
Why is it so difficult to understand that just because a person puts a strawberry label on a jar of pickles, it will not change the reality of its content. How many times does a “pillar of the community” result in anything but. Or a handsome red blooded family man turn around to be a sleaze ball? This same thing happens across the human spectrum but, the idea that anyone calling themselves a Christian may not actually be one is not ever considered. It is used to justify a blanket negative judgment accusing the entire group of real Christians. It is clear that “by their fruits you will know them”, that is what Jesus said. Does it mean the standards of faith held throughout generations is any less impacting or relevant? No, not at all. Each of us will die someday. At that time each will bear witness and be judged by his or her own fruits. So when standing at the edge of this great unknown it would be wise for each to take care to guard their vineyard now to ensure their own healthy crop then.
