Here are ten interesting facts that you probably never knew about Nostradamus and his prophecies. Whether you like to believe it or not, Nostradamus accurately predicted the assassinations of the Kennedy Brothers, 9/11, the rise of Hitler as well as the downfall of Napoleon.
His family converted from Judaism to Catholicism when Nostradamus was 9 years old. He approved the Ceremonies of the Roman Church and remained faithful to the faith and religion until he died. He also berated those people who were prepared to let themselves be fed and watered by the easy-going freedoms of questionable foreign doctrines. Their end, he asserted, would be evil and horrible.
Nostradamus as a child was greatly influenced by Jewish literature. Legends about Nostradamus’ prophetic powers also started very early in age. When in Italy, he saw a young monk who had been a swineherd pass by him in the street and immediately knelt down and called him ‘Your Holiness’. Felice Peretti, the monk, became Sextus V in 1585, long after Nostradamus had died.
Nostradamus had a strong interest in the occult and was known to experience odd flashes of prophetic insight. He even
converted the top room of his house at Salon into a study and worked there at night with his occult books. His interest in occult was well publicized in his prophecy books.
In one of his quatrains Nostradamus revealed how he was able to foretell the future:, “Sitting alone at night in secret study; it is placed on the brass tripod. A slight flame comes out of the emptiness and makes successful that which should not be believed in vain (PON, p. 20)”.
Nostradamus knew he was going to hell. Unlike the truly inspired Biblical prophets who had dreams or heard God’s audible voice without the aid of material objects, the methods Nostradamus used to predict the future was clearly forbidden by God: “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you”. (Deut. 18:10-12)
Nostradamus was almost certainly demon-possessed. The apostle Peter compared false prophets, which included Nostradamus, in the Old Testament to false teachers in the New. Notice: “But there were false prophets also among the people [in ancient Israel], even as there shall be false teachers among you…” (II Pet. 2:1).
He foresaw not one, but three antichrists. One of whom many believe is Vladimir Putin. Each would be responsible for taking humanity one step further towards destruction. Investigators for centuries have entered the torrent of the prophet’s vaguely punctuated stream of consciousness prose to catch or commit an evil before the antichrists arrive happens. However, they failed.
He got some predictions wrong so he was no prophet.
