— Justin Fenton (@justin_fenton) April 28, 2015
Reporter for the Baltimore Sun, Justin Fenton, was in the city yesterday when protests turned to rioting, looting and violence.
In fact, Fenton was attacked by “a group of self-identifying Crips gang members” while attempting to take pictures of what was happening – ie. doing his job. One gang member, who Fenton described as wearing a hoodie pulled tightly over his face, demanded he hand over his phone, and when the reporter turned away, he was hit with mace.
Likely sensing the potential seriousness of the situation, Fenton fled to a nearby shop. Inside that shop was the store owner, armed with a shotgun.
