Baltimore – Ted Slipchinsky

Observing the events unfolding in Baltimore.  The ego is eager to “take sides,” depending on my personal experience, emotional conditioning and belief systems.  This indeed is the way of the world.

The Wave of Creation suggests that I not take sides (although in many ways it would be much easier).  It does this by gently pushing my words back into me, and by doing so, showing me that that taking sides-that separation in any form-does not resonate with the deepest truth I know. Instead the Wave whispers, “Look to your own thoughts and actions.  Are you promoting peace or are you fueling flames?”.  It lets me know that my thoughts and words have a profound impact, either serving the forces of separation and fear, or those of love.  

I bow to that which is beyond reason, beyond emotion, beyond logic.  Until the moment when we are reunited and the illusion is severed, I try to remember who I am.
