Updated: Monday, April 27 2015, 07:27 PM CDT An overflow crowd hears the US Army explain “Jade Helm 15″– a military exercise that will use private land in Bastrop county to train special ops in how to organize allies in foreign lands. But is that really the plan? Today we found out a large number of people in Bastrop County don’t believe what the army is saying. Standing room only spilled over to an impromptu viewing room all gathered to hear about plans for a special ops training exercise coming to Bastrop County. To hear Lt. col. Mark Lastoria tell it, “Jade Helm is just a training exercise to prepare army special operation forces for future operations overseas. That’s all we want to do.” And the exercise does have its supporters, especially among veterans. Mark Paris from Bastrop says, “Not everybody is comfortable with that but there are many of us in the community who are here to be supportive in any way that we can to ensure that these soldiers are trained.”
