DAHBOO77: Earthquakes: 4.0 Quake Rocks Missouri Near Heart Of New Madrid, 6.0 Fiji (Video)

(Before It's News)

(N.Morgan) The earthquake activity near the New Madrid has been experiencing an uptick in quake activity.

There was also a 6.0 in Fiji.

We can clearly see, these earthquakes are gathering strength and their seismic activity is increasing in some parts of the world.

The latest activity was a 4.0 which struck the New Madrid 9 hours ago.

Though not a big one, the quake was felt by local residents.

This activity implies the rumblings could possibly increase and become a larger, magnitude quake in the future, which seismologists have been warning about for years, in regards to the New Madrid fault line.

The New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ) lies directly above an ancient failed rift, the Reelfoot rift.

About 550 million years ago, a rift began to form under the present day site of New Madrid [Vogel, 1996].

For unknown reasons, the rift failed and subsequently became filled with sediment.

Similarly, 180 million years ago, as the Atlantic Ocean began to open, a rift developed near present day Charleston.

This rift was successful.

Over the next 180 million years, the margin of continental North America moved thousands of kilometers away from the spreading center, but the crust around Charleston, known as a passive margin, remains faulted [Johnston and Kanter, 1990].

The New Madrid (MAD’rud) Seismic Zone, midway between St. Louis and Memphis, has a history of shaking violently, about every 500 years.

When it shook for three months in 1811-12, this was the western frontier, and the population was sparse.

If it shook with that magnitude again, the devastation would make Hurricane Katrina look “like a Sunday School picnic.”

The New Madrid fault system is a series of faults several miles below the surface.

Experts say we’re overdue for a “6″ like the one in 1895 which shook down buildings in the Charleston, Mo. area.

The “big ones” of 1811-12 were probably “7″s, accompanied by a few thousand smaller ones over 4-6 months.

Each unit of the Richter Scale is a tenfold increase in the relative size of an earthquake.

A magnitude 6.0 is ten times the size of a magnitude 5.0, and one hundred times the size of a 4.0.

But energy release is a different matter.

A magnitude 6.0 releases 32 times more energy than a magnitude 5.0, and about one thousand times more energy than a magnitude 4.0  – CERI

  • Man

earthquakes happen on a daily basis…. so what is the news exactly?

  • Wrong Lori, Dahboo7?is a Shill…

    NWO PUPPET SHILL  DAHPOOP007 EXPOSED:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyHgO81Dg1Y

    • Yes he’s an idiot

      • disaster feed…oh, nice one!…creative dissing username!…congrats, shill!

no, pal, you are the ‘one with the loose marbles’ – in fact, his report on the quake in Missouri is right on…quakes in that area, of that size and greater, are fairly rare and do point to new madrid movements.

You shills bore me – you are so obvious, it’s pathetic!!!…lol.

Are you doin’ it for free (passionate sychophant) or is the pay that good!

The only thing enjoyable and exciting about reading your vomitous responses is that I get to critique them with amusement. L.

      • Hey pal, Layna… Why don’t you give the hate a rest. You’re really making Christians look bad. Idiot!

      • Doesn’t she though, Real Deal? Makes Agnosticism look good does our Lalaland.

  • mitch51

A 4.0 earthquake doesn’t “rock” anybody. You barely feel it. I guess you haven’t been in many quakes.

  • Couldn’t have “rocked” very hard. We are 100 miles from that site and due to the type of rock formations we feel many of them. I won’t watch his video. To be exact it was a 3.6. Or at least that’s what the USGS says.

    • widowmaker…should we add ‘cointelpro’ to the end of your username too?…or are you just a wannabee satanist in the military?

      Just curious?…heck, why not?…seems that’s why you come here…L.

      • I so can’t stand you. You are the epitome of Christian hate. You are no Christian… You are a Satanic hate filled slimeball.

  • OH, COME ON…EXPOSET.T. …DAHBOO77 IS NO SHILL, PAL!…HE HAS BEEN HARANGUED AND HAD HIS SITE TAKEN DOWN…NO WAY HE’S A SHILL…DUH.

    I LIKE YOUR USERNAME – BASS-ACKWARDS…SELAH…

I THINK YOU MAY BE THE SHILL…l.

‘One way to test a shill/cointelpro is – they always twist 360 degrees…

‘expose the what?’ – you mean, ‘expose the lies’?…if this guy was a good guy, he would not have a username like that…guaranteed, folks.

    wakey-wakey…

    • Another loving Christian comment from Westboro Layna. I’m sure Jesus would be proud. You really represent him well. IF JESUS WAS SATAN!

    • Here’s a thought on why many people believe Duh-boo-ssseven is a shill and that N. Morgan shouldn’t be giving air time to his scare mongering, Layna. You see: this article, right out of the gate, starts with a logical fallacy called the “Argumentum ad populum” or appeal to popularity (the equivalent of everybody knows) and it was put like this…

“We can clearly see, these earthquakes are gathering strength and [that] seismic activity is increasing in some parts of the world”

… and not once throughout the entire article is any evidence shown for this claimed increase. Sure there’s plenty of chit-chat about earthquakes and how scary they are but nothing that actually substantiates the original claim. Some minimalist thinking around an +M6.0 being overdue and i’ve got to tell you, Layna, we get one of those every two or three days.

Only lazy thinkers and scaredy cats dig this nonsense, girlfriend, and i know for a fact you’re none of the second but perhaps a little of the first. Which brings me to the point: why do you allow others to do your thinking for you?
