The twelve tribes from the twelve brothers reflect the 12 months of the year. There are twelve kinds of people ie 12 kinds of personalities. These are represented by the 12 apostles. Each apostle came from one of each of these kinds . This was necessary for their universal mission.
We have no proof of this wrt their universal mission but it seems logical. Also the twelve tribes probably represented the twelve personality types as well, thus representing the whole of humanity, as well, and prefiguring it. In God’s mind a chosen race is not special but representative of the whole. That and that alone is the reason they are called “chosen”, rather than the exclusivity current Zionists attach to that word “chosen”. In God’s mind the greatest is the servant of all – remember? Hence the Jews are chosen because their mission was to serve all of humanity and not exalt themselves above humanity. This they have done, for God’s work is never in vain. and this was accomplished through the many diasperas of the Israelites who thus became the leaven for the bread of humanity

….thus the ten “lost” tribes are not lost at all….in God’s eyes. rather they are fullfilling the Divine mandate in the plan of salvation.
